A Niger Delta university student identified as Aduba Daniel, who discovered that he had “carry over” in his courses, reportedly committed suicide by drinking a full bottle of insecticide, Sniper.
Confirming the death of the Niger Delta university student, Ijaw youth advocate Bodmas Kemepadei disclosed that the deceased was rushed to Tantua hospital in Amassoma ( Bayelsa), which was where it was realized that he drank the full bottle of sniper insecticide. The deadly insecticide damaged important parts of his intestines.
The deceased’s sister who penned down a tribute to him on Facebook, wrote;
Until we meet again. What a painful exit. Those special memories of you will always bring a smile if only I could have you back for just a little while Then we could sit and talk again just like we used to do you always meant so very much and always will do too the fact that you’re no longer here will always cause me pain but you’re forever in my heart..
This is coming after a student of University of Lagos was reported to have killed herself, after being accused of stealing makeup and clothes in her hostel. Ayomide was said to have taken Sniper pesticide, a DDVP, 2,2-Dichlorovinyl dimethyl phosphate compound, marketed by Swiss-Nigerian Chemical Company and used as a synthetic organophosphorus which many now use as an indoor insecticide.
Ajani Damilola, a Mechanical Engineering student of the same university, on his Face book post said that Ariyibi Ayomide, a student of the Faculty of Business Administration, Department of Employee Relations and Human Resources Management (ER & HRM) took her own life after her room mates booed her for stealing make up and clothes.
The lady who was rushed to medical facility in Ebutte Metta area of the state, was further referred to LUTH where she was declared dead.
