The Bayelsa State Government has again demonstrated its commitment to continue to partner and colloborate with National and International bodies to bring Bayelsa State Education system to a world standard.
This is coming after the Commissioner for Education, Hon. Jonathan Robinson Obuebite received members of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) Teacher Development Program in his office at the New Education House.
The visit is in line with the proposed plan by NCDMB to partner with the Ministry of Education to train 250 teachers in Mathematics, English Language, Basic Science, and Introductory Technology.
You would recall that the Ministry a Fourth night ago successfully organised the training of 150 Computer Science teachers and 2000 students on coding and other computer related courses, in partnership with Microsoft Inc. And IGNITE Nigeria.
Addressing the members of the Teacher Development Program of the NCDMB, the commissioner reassured the team that the Ministry is ready to partner with them as one of the Cardinal point of interest to the Restoration Administration led by Governor Seriake Dickson is to ensure that education in Bayelsa gets to an enviable height among the comity of States.
He adds that the training and retraining of teachers is not left out which is why the Governor set up a board, ‘Teacher Training Registration and Certification Board’ , whose duty is to ensure that every teacher goes through a training and retraining process and inturn impact into their students.
